dude, don’t mess with me. i am serious. FEAR me if you do not go to UCLA. or UCB, waiting waiting. next friday will seal the deal. and if i don’t see you on campus. “Shiver me timbers!”

Question about transcripts guys. I still need to get my IGETC certification from my school. But I still need to request transcripts from my previous CCC. Should I have the previous CCC transcripts sent to my current CCC, and have my current CCC send both transcripts to LA along with the IGETC certification?

@iDizzle
no, just get the IGETC mailed off asap, and then have the other transcripts completed asap. whatever you can get done on monday, do it. good luck. and make sure that is addressed to UCLA. right? hahahahahha

but you don’t need to send transcripts unless you have SIRed.

Yeah, i made friends with the admins at my school and had them send my IGETC certification to UCSB, UCLA, and UCB already. she gave me a funny look, but i told her that i was leaving my decision to the last minute and just wanted those things out of the way. she is cool and said, “no problem” and sent them off.

iDizzle
rock wall? don’t mess with me dude. fish eye

@northbeach you’re allowed to send them even if you’re not sure if you got accepted yet? Have you been able to check if UCLA has received your IGETC yet? and UCSB?

@philsoup
funny thing is, i don’t think that UCLA even requires an IGETC certification from me. they only requested official transcripts from my CC. nothing more. but i sent the IGETC anyway. why not? haha. man, this crazy red tape. i like to stay on top of the madness. UCSB requested an IGETC. now, UCLA may have requested one and i just don’t see the alert. but i do see that they require my “official transcripts” from my current school.

Yeah it seems like UCLA isn’t up front about getting igetc certificates. But they definitely use it to work on our degree progress report so it’s definitely beneficial. But it sucks they don’t have some sort of check list so we know if they even received it. I hope they actually kept it in their records even though you didn’t SIR yet.

@philosoup
interesting. well, i am sending everyone every document that i can think of. why not? can’t believe how hard i worked to earn all these credits and grades. glad that part of my education is finito. onward we go!

there is a checklist, but the IGETC is not on mine.

@northbeach: lol, don’t hate on their rockwall. It’s bad as$ =]. hahah. Oh that’s actually a really good idea. I’m going to have the SIR done this week too.

@northbeach Hah yeah I think I’ll definitely send in my IGETC certificate before May, maybe after Cal decisions. Do you order transcripts online or in person? I go to SMC and this is what they say:

Rush- Hand Carries: which will be available for pick-up the 3rd business day (Monday - Thursday ONLY), after 1:00pm, AFTER receiving your signed authorization.

What in the world do they mean by signed authorization?

@philosoup
my CC is living in the dark ages. i have to walk into their office and pay them money, and fill put paper forms, and then they will send transcripts to UCLA, etc… the good news is, it will be my LAST visit to that office. sayonara enchilada!

oh, have them sent directly from your school, don’t pick them up first. “signed authorization” well, probably just signed by the admissions and records chief to verify that the document is authentic. but you do need to have them sent from the school, not from you. at least that is how my transcripts request works.
