People. There were nearly 20,000 applicants. Stop freaking out when certain aspects of your “profile” aren’t coming along as fast as someone else’s - THAT’S WHY THE ADMISSION DATE HASN’T PASSED YET.

BE CONCERNED IF THINGS AREN’T ACCESSIBLE AFTER ADMISSIONS HAVE BEEN POSTED, NOT BEFORE WHEN YOU’RE TRYING TO BREACH CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE WEBSITE THROUGH METHODS NOT AT ALL ENDORSED OR SUPPORTED BY THE SCHOOL.

tbh, if i didn’t have either the tracking or summary on my ursa and others did i’d be freaking out too. BUT like everyone has said, some people get it way in advance, while others get it like a day before, and some, hours, minutes, seconds before. w/e4ever though because clearly we’re a motivated bunch and i’m certain that if we bring this motivation to wherever we go we’ll end up fine no matter what!

i feel like this comment needs this attached to it:

http://media.■■■■■■■■■■/tumblr_m0kjwkfKNG1qj9e69.gif

haha

I’m able to see the tracking and summary, but I was just wondering IF it proves true and I do get admitted, will signing up for the ursa using my UC application ID instead of the UCLA specific student ID cause any problems? Would I have to make another account or something?

Has anyone experienced that before?

People seem to forget that the applications get REVIEWED BY HUMANS, not some automatic sorting machine that puts students into the “admitted” or “denied” pile instantly. Those of you with GPAs that aren’t the strongest should be especially conscious of this - aren’t you guys banking on your intangibles to make you an appealing candidate? That’s the humanly part of the reviewers coming through and deeming you worthy of an admission, in case you forgot. Or would you have preferred this to have been a speedy process that would’ve automatically denied you just for your GPA, because that’s how some of you are coming off with your impatience.

We applied last year, not last week.

@northbeach

based on all of her posts i get the vibe that tredelta takes everything more seriously than anyone actually having a reaction to not having an updated ursa. clearly she’s missing the point, reason is suspended in times like these.

it’s like reading crash statistics to people who are afraid of flying, ummmmmmm yeah, i get it, i’m more likely to be struck by lightening than to be in an aeroplane accident, but that still doesn’t alleviate my flying phobia.

… Not at all. Pardon me if this comes off as offensive, but it just simply blows my mind reading some of the stuff on this forum when the people using this site should be some of the brightest minds around. I almost feel like I’m reading Yahoo! Answers sometimes. If reason is “suspended in times like these” and it forces people to act like headless chickens, maybe your mind hasn’t matured enough to be thrown into the competitive frenzy of a university environment.

Also, I’m not a “she.”

grl, pls, w/e

you are in the same boat so don’t act as if you are above us. in fact, right after you were going off on how we should just wait yaddi yadda yadda, etc …you were like “curiosity got the best of me, i made an account, i have both tracking and summary…” so w/e. we’re not here for your two dollar judgment, self-righteousness, and fake psychology card. go read a book and be bitter chica. no1currs here.

Does anyone know if getting offered to apply for the regents scholarship gives any indication to being admitted?

@bougiebouche
tee hee hee. this sure is a fun place to goof around while waiting. fluxrad made a good point about being caught up in the theatrics. that is fine too. all i know is that it sure beats doing homework! so done with homework this semester. and i know there will be two years of it in my immediate future wherever i end up transferring. i just amuse myself with visions of those little techie trolls over at UCLA and UCB entering data and snickering as they watch us all logging in to their website. they are probably eating pizza and drinking beer too!

@northbeach

totally!!! like it’s the internet, relax. like we are all fully aware how ridic and silly it is and it helps pass the time. it’s not like we go out and tell people irl that we’ve been rejected/accepted based on the findings within our ursa page, you know? we know it’s not reliable, all probably a myth but w/e!

@bougiebouche
but i AM going to get one of those flyers and demand admission to CAL. you know i will.

@bougiebouche: My ability to access certain segments of the URSA page has done nothing for me to suggest that I got in, which is still very much in line with my initial point that most of you aren’t going to feel any less distraught doing the same anyway. If you actually read my posts, you would’ve noticed that I tried it with a new account not so I can tell Mommy and Daddy I found some obscure clues suggesting I was admitted, but to add more fuel to the fire, which apparently worked (and personally struck a chord with you).

Your projection skills are unbelievable. It’s not me worried about my admission more than everyone else, it’s you. You’ve taken all of my posts as if they were aimed directly your way, because of your own doubts. If I wanted to belittle you, I would’ve alluded to my GPA in every post, talking about how assured I feel about my admission because of the hard work I put in the last two years. The only time I posted my stats was when someone asked.

@northbeach: Unfortunately, considering admissions are all conditional (i.e. they can really use any excuse to cover up accidental admissions and such), I don’t think you’ll get very far.

Here’s to hoping for a legitimate admission notification on the official announcement dates.

Hey does anyone want to put their cat claws away and help me with my question? It would be greatly appreciated :)

I missed the discussion about the April 20th ‘rumor’, so I don’t know that specific source, but the CCCP UCLA ([Twitter](http://twitter.com/#!/CCCP_UCLA)) feed seems to confirms this date as well: “All transfer admissions will be notified by this Friday 4/20/2012”. YES!

@tredelta your observations are on point. thanks for sharing and illuminating this forum with your insight. am i worried about admissions? totally! do i think that your posts are directed at me? well, since I am a member of this thread making speculations and interacting with the other members about possible clues then, um, guilty!

so, really, now i just have to clarify and tell you why your baseless, contemptuous comments badger me. If so much of what you read on this forum is lost on you and you genuinely believe that we are all delusional enough to believe that these little ursa signifiers say anything about our admissions status, then you are a little bit more off hinge than the rest of us. like many of us have acknowledged, continually, we are fully aware of how ridiculous and unreliable (albeit sometimes proven) these tactics are. my point is this, if you are so alarmed with our behavior then get out, don’t partake, encourage, or share your reason because it is either already obvious to us or because it makes you look like a butthole the size of russia. we are not here for that, we are here to pass the time and be conversational.

@tredelta
not sure what you mean “don’t think you’ll get very far…” you mean with my “discount flyer” admission notice? what! you don’t think they will accept me when i “prove” my admission with the macbook discount flyer!? appeal appeal! that’s what i say. it right here in black and white.

speaking of ridiculousness. i can’t find any comedy clips on youtube about college admissions. hmpf. you would think that there would be gazillions of them.

Wait it’s 25% off Macbooks? o_o Admission leak aside, that’s a really significant discount.

pm each other each others arguments/opinions?

@sadler
there was a thread about regents scholarships. did they send you a midterm report request and ask for emails from your professors? anyway, if you have a 4.0 and got regents as a transfer, seems logical that you would be accepted.
