UCLA or U Col, Boulder for M.S. Aerospace Eng.

Hi everyone,

Which school should I attend if I am interested in guidance/nav./controls? UCLA is close to the aerospace companies in El Segundo and it is a well-known school. It looks like I would only do a 1-year terminal masters there though, with no research or project experience. I feel a bit uneasy about that, especially since I do not have any career experience yet. I heard UCol Boulder offers a lot of hands-on experience, so that is why I am considering them also. Can anyone in the industry give me some advice? I was involved in some projects in my undergrad, but I did not accomplish a lot there (I don't know how many people actually do?).

Are you in-state for either University? If you are, use that as the deciding factor. Otherwise, choose which one is in a location where you want to live after graduation.

I am a California resident. I realized I forgot to mention that in my post, so yea, U Col would pretty much cost me double. I guess my concern is, would a coursework/comprehensive exam M.S. at UCLA be enough, or is the research/project experience really necessary to employers?
