<p>Hi everyone,
I am deciding between Berkeley and LA for this fall as a transfer student. I have to make my decision on Sunday, and haven't figured it out yet!!
My interest is clinical psychology, with a focus in pediatric clinical psychology, pediatric clinical neuropsychology, and treatment of anxiety disorders.
LA has a clinic looking specifically at pediatric anxiety disorders, which seems perfect. As an undergrad, who would only get to work as an RA, is it worth picking a school based on research positions in this clinic?
I have really liked Berkeley in the time I've spent there - it is about 30 minutes from where I love now (at home). I didn't have the same great first impression of LA, but I'm sure if I were to spend more time there I would grow to love it too.
Berkeley is lacking in clinical research involving children, however, aside from this, the departments are both excellent.
I am also wondering if the culture of clinical research on children - and the fact that I will have professors at LA who share my exact areas of interest - would greatly impact my undergraduate experience.
As for proximity to home, I am anxious about leaving, but that is no good reason to stay.
Thank you in advance!
