Okay HELP I still am still stuck between UCLA and Berkeley (I got off the waitlist to Berkeley last Friday) primarily because I applied as a Physics major and Berkeley only offers a BA in physics while LA offers both a BS and BA. I want to go to graduate school for engineering OR pursue computer science idk yet but would a BS in a science (such as Physics or Chemistry / Materials Science) at UCLA better prepare me for grad school compared to a BA in Computer Science or Physics? I think that a BS will be better for grad school and just to have more experience in the hard sciences and maths than a BA where I would take more humanities courses right? I want Berkeley because of the whole Silicon Valley and Tech industry. Honestly I do want Berkeley, but I feel like with LA I can pursue a BS and then go to graduate school. Any insights?!?! Please I need to decide before tomorrow!!! Thank you!
I do not know if graduate schools care about applicants having a B.S. over a B.A., but I know some tech jobs require a B.S. degree. Make sure you do some research about this.
pretty sure grad schools don’t care about a BS/BA since UCB’s L&S CS major is also a BA. Berkeley is also one of the best school for physics in the nation.
