Hello! I have a little trouble deciding which to attend so please help me out!

I was admitted by

UCLA (Pre-econ)
Univeristy College London (economics)
McGill University (Bcommerce)
University of Warwick (Econ)
King's College (business)

So put the tuition and costs aside....I plan to go into iBanking in the future
and I don't care whether the location be in the US, in Europe, or in Asia.

I am seriously having trouble deciding where to attend.....and since I live in Asia, I have no means of knowing the reputation of those schools in the local areas. I am simply asking which school would you attend if you were in my position?

Right now, my feeling is more like
1. UCL
2. UCLA or McGill (I'll probably end up going to one of these)
4. Warwick
5. King's

Though I probably will struggle obtaining the IB score of 38 required by UCL so it would be great if you can list them in order and put a little explanation.

Thank you !!

and btw does anyone know if UCLA gives financial aid to sophomores intls?

I don't know abt UCLA particularly, but most universities give scholarships to internationals from sophomore year- but for that u have to have a great GPA and be on the deans list or its equivalent.

Academically I'd go to Warwicks- their econ is really very good.

but then UCLA is well ranked and is in California!

Westwood is very tempting but the cost performance is quite poor in my opinion....44k a year....
But if I can expect a decent financial aid after freshman year then I love to attend UCLA! so if anyone knows about the financial aid in UCLA please help me out!

I didn't know Warwick Econ's reputation is that good....hmm. I suppose maybe I should place it above UCLA and McGill.....??

I would think Warwick. Great campus. an hour from London by train. For IB it ranks around 4th or 5th in the UK. However, Mcgill would also come close.

I can't tell you where to go but I think I can tell you where not to go and that would be Mcgill. Their BCommerce program sucks and is very under funded

its a well known fact that McGill's school of management is second tier in Canada ask any Canadian...their program is not even comparable to the other unis you have on your list

Desautels commerce isn't bad at all. Although maybe it's a bit below Sauder (UBC) and Queen's business school, I'd say its still considered first tier in Canada. Montreal is an amazing city, and I think McGill is a solid choice for anyone.

Although Mcgill is a great university, they're not known for their business-ish programs. They're know for science medicine dentistry engineering etc etc. for canada, UoT (university of Toronto) or Queens are the best for commerce/business type programs. Mcgill and Queens often battle it out for position as top schools in Canada.

ALSO, I would advise you to rethink UCLA. Not because it's a bad school, it's great, but all UC schools are hard to get in for out of state students, let alone international students. last time I checked, their international acceptance rate was 3%, 9% out of state or something like that. I know it's annoying, I wanted to apply to two UC schools until I found out they had a huge preference for in state students. Apply if you think you're strong. I myself am rethinking putting UC colleges on my list.

Your best bet here would be Warwick, that is, if you want to get into IB. Warwick is one of the top 4 schools for IB in the UK. LSE and Oxbridge being the other three.

Considering you really want to go into Ibanking, the best options you have are surely either Warwick and UCL. Mcgill wont give you a great shot at I banking, nor would UCLA. Between UCL and Warwick i would go to Warwick only because of the better student life.

^ maybe for overall, but not for IB. Warwick is just right alongside Oxbridge when it comes to IB opportunities. It's a targe school or IB in the UK and Europe.
