I noticed the school of film/tv/theater is offering online summer classes during session A and C. For example, History of American Musical Theater with Gardner and Fundamentals of Screenwriting with Walter. Does anyone have any experience taking UCLA classes online? Any personal experience you can share?

Anyone with experience with Theater 110 or Film/TV 130A???

I’m currently enrolled in 130A (so I’ve never taken the online version), but the class is really interesting. As a movie lover, I’ve been really satisfied. My class currently consists of a 50 minute lecture once a week where we have an assignment due further our screenplay and are shown clips from a variety of movies. I definitely recommend it!

Walter’s screenwriting class is very good. I have no experience with the online version, but if it offers videos of his lectures, that would be pretty much the same experience as the actual class. It is his lecture personality and his stories that are engaging.

His book is very good as well, and pretty much follows the same track as what he lectures about. His lectures are just filled with more anecdotes.

Anyone else had experience with these classes?
