i like #1 it kind of made me sad /cry a bit. (i am a girl)

i am a math/econ major.

Thanks Malishka, I took your tip and I was able to get onto URSA.

I think I'm in? I don't want to say yet cause I'm not entirely sure. They asked me for my permanent email address and took me to my main menu.

In it, it has

ADMISSION

Undergraduate Fall 2006

-Accept or Decline your offer of admission

and

Personal

-Change your E-mail

-Change Security Code (PIN)

-Change Challenge Quesiton

I'm literally shaking right now. I think I'm in, but I don't want to say until I get a letter of admissions. Someone reassure me?

i think that is the difference. it doesn't mean anything that you didn't get a pin. our major does their own thing. you'll get in. your essays are very very good

your 110% in. you can accept your SIR throught that site.

are you a comm major

Malishka - I like your 1st and 3rd essays. My 3rd essay was just like yours. I wrote about how I took the GED to get out of HS at age 17 so that I can switch from PT work to FT work. I had to help out my family financially. It took me 3 years before I realized that I had a "ceiling" and got myself into college. I believe you will get into UCLA. Perhaps us nontraditional students might have an advantage in admissions. I definitely capitalized on my 3rd essay.

Your 2nd essay kind of dodged the question though. You could have talked more about what your diversity offers so that the reviewers can know who you are (to stand out) rather than what you saw.

I'll post mine but I can't find it on my computer. Do you know if I can retrieve it online from my application?

digitalash. i feel the same way. for the other folks, eho got accetpted on wednesday it definitely meant "in". i also want to see a letter

and yes. i'm a comm major

pin = in, at least thats my theory :)

digitalash, what is your major ?

essay #2 was the hardest for me to write. i hated the question from the start.

i do think its the most storytelling flowy essay of the 3.

umm i dont thinmkyou can reatreat it form you application.

communications.

so no one else can make a pin yet?

nope... i hope i get accepted by ucla tommorrow because i know im going to be rejected by cal.

i've never tried to create a pin, so for all I know, i could have done this last week.

Good luck to everyone else! I'm still freaking out about Berk though, which is my first choice.

does anyone ever write their personal statement essays without pulling the whole "immigration" to america....please have pity on me, i deserve coming from the third world blah blah....

elvis... i am sure some do, i am not one of them.

i am utilizing this for all its worth from now until the end of time.

Malishka, I like #3 ...though i felt #1 and #2 were kind of trite (as in, thats what a lot of people write about) but you write well.

where is the 3rd essay?

i like essay 1 more than 2 because its showing real potential in you but two shows like your personality and emotions.

edit: i just read your essay but its not here anymore...

Oh, i moved it to the WILL I GET INTO BERKELEY forum because i'm not really applicable to this "thread"

aHGggggggggggggg, anyone still pendingg???????????????
