don't worry about it Malishka! My friend got into Haas with a 3.84ish... I'm sure he had bomb ass essays but really as long as you have good essays, you should be fine for UCLA... especially since I saw some 4.0's get rejected from Haas.

moss thanks, but my essays arent that good .... i want to go hit my head against the wall until the decision comes out.

i know i will be rejected. and that makes me sad.

sad
sad
sad
sad
sad

dude, i am going to need like 5 years of therapy to deal with my rejection.

Remember:

Undergraduate:

90% student drive, 10% school.

i dont get it?

The way you perform for gradschool or work is 90% student drive
and only 10% what school you are at.

I'm... dying. I registered to this forum to say that. I was prepared for death or success for this whole time, for the last week -- but UCLA is dragging this damned thing out so far that my stomach is sinking thinking about the impending failure I might have doomed myself to.

Everything's not lost, I'm sure. We just don't know yet. At least we're still in the game. Right?

yeah this really sucks i just hate the feeling of waiting......apr.30th...now may 1st....what's next...what is next

I will be shocked if we don't know by Friday..

so what are the odds that someone is updating their website between 1am - 6am pst

slim to none..in fact, why am I up so early? That is the question :)

OMG..I just logged in and all I saw was, "we're sorry...blah, blah, blah" and my heart almost stopped.

Then I realized they were "sorry, but our online decision site is closed. Please check back with us later"..i'm such a dork! Obviously, I have never checked the ucla website so early in the morning.

that is the question to the both of us...im just up studying anyways plus i keep thinking when will ucla release the rest of the decisions

Maybe I'm optimisitc after yesterday's news, but I believe we are all getting in.--the comm majors still waiting, that is-- In fact, I'll be shocked if we don't. For ucla to make us wait this long could only be good news, imo. Also, looking through last year's archives, of the people who heard their ucla decisions after May something, they usually got in.

Also elvissim, you have a 3.9...you will get in. I know a 3.82 who got in last year..

i hope so....so if you do get in talkell which one would you favor more UCB or UCLA?

I called in earlier today. Their database does maintenance from 1-6, and one of the admissions counselors said that the database they put the decisions into as to redistribute to be displayed. They do it on a rolling basis, and the day's batch shows up at about 6-7pm. She also assured me that they are doing lots of admission decisions every day -- she said thousands, but that might be an exaggeration.

Bah. My GPA is waaaay low. I'm just fortunate that I have community service, some dean's list semesters, a thoroughly written and illustrative personal statement, and that my major is philosophy and not business (or something else competitive like that). sigh I still think my chances are low though. :/

That's a very good question..still working on it. :)

well hey apoth i don't think you should worry too much when looking at last years stats for philosophy major transfers.....the avg gpa was only like 3.4 or so and it isn't impacted

so i have removed the admission and ursa website from my favorites because I REFUSE TO HAVE HOPE!

so... did anyone else check?

i mean i am allowing myself to check if admissions posted for others.

yes....been checking...nothing new for my app....

guys.. don't be so nervous (although i am too).
elvissim don't worry, it's just 8am now..
