UCLA transfer as MCDB/Biology

Submitted my UC application with a 3.8 GPA but this semester (FALL 2016), I didn’t do well and got 2 C’s in major prep courses, which I will be updating on my UC app this January. I’m expecting a hard drop from a 3.8 to a 3.55. By the time I finish this upcoming Spring semester (confident in getting at least B’s in Calc 2 and Ochem 2), I’ll have all of my major prep courses completed except for physics (which is recommended to be completed at a 4-year institution) but I’m scared that these two C’s will prevent me from getting admitted. All of my grades so far have been A’s and B’s and I’ve finished all general ed courses.

Here’s additional info about my application:
Transferring from a California Community College under honors program (TAP certified)
Lot’s of extracurricular activities (volunteer at two hospitals and a nursing home, president of school club, volunteer at my local synagogue, etc…)
Personal statements were read by professors and med school prospects and all considered my insights to be very strong and well-written.
Worked for 2 years (20 hours/week)

Any thoughts on how competitive my application is? Also, any feedback on what to do about the 2 C’s I’ve received? Should I send a letter explaining to my schools about my grades?

its pity to get 2 Cs T_T but your application still is very strong however, you should have worked harder buddy , 2Cs dont make sense at all when you are top notch students
