Yup, that’s all you can hope for! I think you have to be approved by two people, at least I can say I really gave it my best How many of us can say, UCLA emailed me once?

Lol right!! And I agree that you’re in.

I CAN say USC emailed me twice :)

I am a one year transfer with TAP. UCLA emailed me and asked for me to obtain email statements from my teachers regarding my current spring grades, they gave me 5 days and said they needed it before making a decision. Has anyone ever heard of this? I assume they asked because I only had AP scores and one semester to officially report.

@ PreMedaholic

Right?!

It feels good to at least have them acknowledge you via email :)

Did everyone get an email asking for them to upgrade grades? I remember getting three back to back . Is this is a good thing? I also received mail from UCLA asking me to complete the FASFA in February.

Guys,

you are all making me blush. First, we can’t confirm that I even have a 3.7+ since, I calculated a lower GPA than the UC App. We do know that they looked at my app, and that the way I responded was extremely humble and thankful. I basically answered those questions like mini personal statements. I did that in less than 4 sentences each time!

If we get in, we have to meet up. Whether its UCLA or UCI, even UCSD.

P.S, if I go to UCSD, I need a roommate in fully furnished Rita Akinson!

Holla!

Crap!

I opened the flood gates!

I think if you get an email, you know they are evaluating. Maybe we should be happy they are taking this long, it may mean they are really combing through the application.

@UCdrone, do you know what the cheapest living options are around UCI? I know that in a previous thread you mentioned you lived by (ask me about UCLA options haha, I live right by)

@ xMathx

Like I’m getting UCLA, LOL :)

Try this: [Love Where You Live® - The Irvine Company](Irvine Company Apartments for Rent)

I know where I live, people rent out rooms in their house, and I’ve seen where students rent out a house and divy up the rooms. I know my nephew has a friend whose renting out his house to roommates. UCI has a bus pass that costs $155 for 11 months! So, you could save time with parking and take the bus. My route takes 40 minutes, but its a straight shot. Wish I had a room to rent out to you, oh, if you’re married you can get married housing. A studio is like $700 dollars…

You can also live in Tustin, it’s not really that far. Some people live in area really close to UCI, but its still Tustin. Rent is cheaper there.

@UCdrone,

I did academic renewal too in the fall but Berkeley was the one who sent me a request for my unofficial transcripts, saying that the results would be sent to other schools I applied to (including UCLA.) The problem was that the CC I went to had not updated my unofficial transcript with notation yet and I explained this. I got an automated (presumably) response that said they had received my response and would ask for more info if they needed it. Now I am scared because I did not receive a human response back like you did…
Think I should be worried? Aghghgh

@bicyclebicycle

I think my situation is soooo rare. I probably had someone look at my stuff, who happened to be in a very, very generous mood. Don’t worry, it’s not like I got in…it’s not even a positive indicator, of a positive indicator, LOL :)

@UCdrone I think it is pretty positive for you indeed!

Anyway, hope you are right. I have gotten into UCSD, UCSB, UCI, and UCD, so the system must have accepted my response as true, right? I am just being paranoid I guess…UCLA and Cal are the schools whose approval I really care about…

@UCDrone Something similar happened to me too! In March, I got an email asking me to explain my education gap (which actually scared me, because it made me feel like something was wrong with my application). I am an older student too. Honestly, it sort of worried me that they asked, because I put my work history on my application…so it made me feel like I might have messed something up (in other words, why did they ask if they could see I was working?). And unlike you I didn’t get any nice reply. ;-)

But if everyone is saying it is potentially a “good thing,” I will try to let that comfort me for the next four days. :-)

@ bicyclebicycle

I understand where you’re coming from, but you have schools clamoring for you! Seriously, what do you have to worry about other than picking from 4 UCs?

I bet you’re one of those 4.89 GPA students, LOL :)

@ CQBanana

That’s how it started for me, but you forget, I answered my questions like mini personal statements (less than 4 sentences). I think my responses were the kind where it would have been rude not answer back, LOL :)

I’m checking this page religiously…

^ Me too!

@ BioToUcla

What’s your major, and did you also apply to Berkeley?

haha twinsies! I applied as Molecular Cell Developmental Biology to UCLA and general bio at Berkeley! How about you? My gpa is a 3.68 so I’m RIGHT on the average for what was accepted last year at LA, super worried!

@ BioToUcla

Uh, yeah…me too?

No, I’m a Sociology major at all UCs applied, except for UCI where I TAGGED as a Criminology, Law and Society major. So far, I’m in at UCI and UCSD.

Usted?

@BioToUCLA, I am too. It’s almost disgusting…it’s become an OCD at this point. AHHHHH
