Basically coming from the idea of a poster from 2014 waitlist thread but, for this year 2016:
I made this thread so that everyone on the UCLA waitlist could share information/resources with each other. I am on the waitlist for international development studies. UCLA states that the "waitlist is by invitation only and they only “offer a select group of qualified applicants the option of placing themselves on the waitlist.”
The burning question that I have is, How many students do they invite to the waitlist? (I’m sure its different for each major.) Knowing this information will clarify the likelihood of getting admitted. What are your burning questions?, What are the neat resources/information that you have found?, or your thoughts on the waitlist?
Hello Skynikpi, I was also waitlisted for biz/econ. I could share some information I have found on this matter. Note: Waitlist applicants are not given a number like some of you might think. If room was to open up for more applicants they would review the waitlisted applicants once more. And I have heard that this year a lot!!! Of Out of state applicants were accepted and they will not be receiving financial aid so that’s a good thing for us!
I got waitlisted as well. I’m the only one in my big group of friends got waitlisted instead of admitted or rejected. So I hope that the amount of people in the waitlist is not too many. @KINGKHAN310 I also hope they accepted 20% as well haha
Hopefully, some dude in my class who had a lower gpa and less pre reqs got in for the same major as me… He is the same ethnicity as me so I don’t understand @nhtrvn@skynilpy
@skynilpy I’m Mechanical Engineer with 3.61 GPA, so there isn’t much hope for me. @KINGKHAN310 he might have a really good story and stuff like that. I know people have lower GPA and got in too. however most of the people I know who got accepted, have 3.8-4.0 GPA
has anybody heard back from UCLA? it is now june 27th and ive still heard
nothing… but everytime i check the website it says decisions have still not been made…
