Born and raised in the cold, but I've lived on Southern California for a few years now. Both schools would end up costing about the same. I'm undecided on my major, but I have family in both areas. At this point, I'm looking for something to really sell me on either one, beacuse I'm at a total loss.

And to be honest, I wasn't considering either until I got my financial aid packages and saw that Duke was going to too expensive :( dang economy.

I happened to read your history of posts, since they weren’t that many.

Says, you were also accepted to Berkeley, but something about it costing too much. So is the difference between UCLA and Berk, the room and board, and you’d plan on commuting to UCLA?

And it sounds like you got some help from BU, to put in on par with UCLA? If you commute to UCLA it sounds like you got a lot of help from BU.

The difference between me attending Berkeley and UCLA is about 5,000 which my parents don’t have. And both include room and board since I don’t really live close enough to commute.

The difference between BU and UCLa is about 1,500 which I could handle.

But if neither BU nor UCLA thrill you, then go to community college, and re-apply to Berk if that is more of your dream. Kids that have tight financial situations such as yourself should always consider a community college, because, one, you live in CA, and there’s probably a quality cc right near your house; and, two, because you’ll save boatloads of jack, errrr… money. (Sorry, Jim Rome influence)

Even though I am all about UCLA, I can’t pitch the school to you because you’re undeclared w/ undeclared professional plans and certainly, you seemingly have negative feelings towards the school, maybe at best indifferent.

Edit: Because of this, maybe BU would be a good change of scenery.
