alright everyone, heres the situation. in terms of college decision, im leaning toward UCLA myself but my parents are leaning toward Cal Berkeley. anyone care to share some insight or statistic on the two?

btw, no need to mention the food and the girls at UCLA. pretty much well known =)

Accd to this source, UCLA accepted 20.6 percent of applicants, down from 22.2 percent last year. At Berkeley - where the class size grew slightly but the number of applications grew even more - 20.2 percent were accepted, down slightly from 20.7 percent in 2006.

Berkeley is merely .5% lower in admission rate, so the gap btwn UCLA and Cal is decreasing.

I prefer So Cal. I say go for what you want, not your parents. Good luck!!

i pretty much want to go to LA because of their connections to medical field, among other factors. of course, the money doesnt come from my pocket, which is why i need to talk to my parents about everything.

In terms of what you'll get at UCLA, it's almost identical in terms of resources to Cal. Show them the average admits to both schools and how nearly identical they are nowadays.
