<p>what a tricky person. by my definition, he did not “donate” anything; he gave money for exchange of partial control of the football team. a donation, to me, means money or items given with no strings attached.</p>

<p>“donation” is the term that was probably used before by him and the college to make him look generous (and not just a conniving person) and for the college to appear as if people actually care about it</p>
