People listing their AP Courses here be like:

Hello, I’m an AP student. if you’re not familiar with the term, that stands for Advanced Placement. I take college level courses while in high school in order to attain college credit and stand out from my lesser peers. AP classes are very difficult, involving a lot more work outside the classroom than normal, or even honors level, classes. Only very intelligent students are able to thrive in an AP environment, and I’ve taken several AP classes. In fact, I take a lot of AP Classes. AP classes involve an AP test that tests your knowledge of the course in order to prove you deserve college credit. A 5 is the highest score, and usually a 4 or 5 would translate to satisfactory understanding of the germane topics of a course. I have taken many AP tests and scored 5’s on almost all of them. AP tests are very hard but I am very good at taking them. You have to be very smart in order to get a 5 on an AP test. I’ve gotten quite a few 5’s. AP classes are a great way to get ahead in college while you’re still in high school, and they can help with college admissions because you can prove to the college that you’re smart enough to already be taking college courses, also known as Advanced Placement courses, abbreviated as AP courses.

Can someone help me with this: I checked my financial aid award summary, and there’s a list of items on my FALL/ WINTER/ SPRING school year. The first item is federal grant of around 2,000 and that’s already ACCEPTED, and the rest of the items (ex: Cal grant, federal student loans, etc) all all offered. Does that mean the items that are listed as OFFERED mean I WILL get that money? Or do I have to manually accept them? In total if all of the items in my award summary are added up throughout those three quarters, I’ll get around 27,000 out of like 26,800 per year. I’m not sure if that’s how it works because I didn’t get any scholarships notification.

@orionary It basically means the “accepted” parts are automatically applied towards your tuition, while the “offered” items either:
Are actual funds given to you
You go to the financial aid office to accept them

Federal Students Loans are a Loan you have to sign for, please check with financial aid offices to check what tasks you have to do.

edit: Tuition, not GPA

@KnightKing I was accepted as a transfer student from San Bernardino Valley college, local, 2.9 gpa with anthropology major

@mightymeme420 I was denied at CSULB but got accepted to Cal Poly SLO and ucr. They probably haven’t released all the admissions yet.

Decision: Accepted!
Major: Psycholigy but changing later if I go
GPA: 4.1
SAT/ACT: 1120
AP CLASSES/ AP SCORES: AP Enviormental Science/ 2 on test. AP Eng. Lang/ 2 on test. Took 4 college courses and got 3 A’s but one C.
E.C: Really good EC’s including starting a club, starting a clothes drive, and over 400 hours of community service
Essays (GOOD/BAD?): Pretty good if you ask me, my teachers really liked them.
Geographic location: California

Good luck to you all waiting on a decision!

when do they refresh the portals again?

Are they randomly sending acceptances or alphabetically or merit-based, what is going on??

Yeah, has anyone seen their portal refresh TODAY? I thought they did it around 1-3pm.

@Theremitt2018 Yesterday at 12:27 pm(PST) someone commented here to check the portal. So, they must have updated between 12-12:25. But, do they refresh portals at the same time of the day?

Got Accepted with Regents Scholarship. Major is Neuroscience.

Good luck everyone!

congrats to all who got accepted! i checked my portal yday and under alerts it said “TAU message” and when i clicked it the message was basically saying how they did not receive my TAU update. when i go on my uc app it says i submitted it jan 28 (as we were supposed to before jan 31). however when i went on the uc app, it did ask me if all my TAU was correct or if i wanted to add additional changes so i updated my winter grades. does anyone know why this could be? could this be a reason why my app is still being “considered” ? im a transfer student btw.
