UCR Transfer 2017

Applied to all UC’s except UCM &UCD. Accepted into UCSB.

I hope to transfer to UCR I’m not sure if I want to live on campus. What are your plans? Does anyone know of good/decent off campus housing options?

@transferfromSD I plan on transferring to UCR (if Davis rejects me and I get into UCR) but from what I’ve heard from friends and seen on the Class of 2019 FB page, rent varies from $500-$700 and can go up to $1,000+ depending on where you live and how many people you live with. Obviously if you live on campus, it’s $1,000 almost? That’s what I saw when I checked the site a week or so ago. I plan on living off campus though.

@dianeuh96 you should try living in residence hall your first year (junior year). It’s going to be once in a lifetime experience. I’ll be doing that in SB, mine comes out to be 2k per month, just the living cost. single dorm room + unlimited meal plan. if you get rent for like 1000$, you still have to spend like 600+ for food anyways u kno

Try seeing if UCR has University Apartments. UCSB has places that range from 600+ a month. Im probably going to live in one thats 700 a month with utilities and other stuff included in the price tag. Only expense is food but ill def be saving money going that route

Here are the UCR Campus Apartments: http://housing.ucr.edu/housing-options/campus-apartments/

Nothing yet, onc3 again ucr has let me down

TAG applicants will know by April 17th and transfer notifications begin mid-April.

Wtf.

THIS KEEPS GETTING PUSHED BACK UGH

If you go to the UCR Highlander Day website, you can’t make a reservation…for the event taking place tomorrow!!!

UCR is a joke. I know that sounds harsh and that some students really like the school and want to go there but this entire decision process has been complete B.S.

I am happy to have been accepted to UCSD. It was my first choice. I would be quite frustrated if I intended to attend UCR!!

I applied and tagged with 3.06 as econ major. I didn’t do very well last semester because of work, so my gpa dropped down to 2.85 atm which my tag is disqualified. I completed all the lower division classes for the major and IGETC as well. I’m aiming to bring my gpa to 3.0+ by the end of spring. What are my chances? (I know its not a good gpa)

Thank you

@tausby96 just waiting on UCR and Fullerton!

@JustgotintoUCSB Do you know if I can bring my car down if I live in the residence hall? I’m from NorCal but I might bring my car down to SoCal to get around.

Ucr doesn’t give af anymore

@dianeuh96 Yeah. That’s exactly what I’m doing. I’ll have my car parked in street parking area all over IV next to UCSB. My ex-girlfriend goes to UCR. So before until recently we broke up, I was in riverside every weekend in her dorm. I think it was called lothian hall or something. Whenever I was there, I parked my car in the streets. There are always plenty of street parking so don’t buy the dorm parking spot if you don’t mind spending lil extra effort parking every time you use your car. I think it’s like 400$ per quarter or some crazy cost like that if you were to buy parking permit on campus. uhh answer to your question is, Yes, regardless of you getting a parking permit or not. I’m bringing my car from Portland haha 14 hour drive. honestly having a car is suchhhhhhh a plus esp for guys cuz of girls. hahahaha bring it if your situation allows

*I work for Merrill Lynch and volunteer some programs will this increase my chances?

Thank you

@UC2017 I’m not sure what the general accepted gpa range for econ is for UCR. But i can tell you your TAG has been voided for sure so you’ll be evaluated as a regular applicant. This semester’s grades do not matter at all as your admission will be announced prior to sending final grades. In my opinion, ucr isn’t a hard school to get into l. To make it even hopeful, econ is one of the least competitive major at ucr. I think you have like 50% chance. Don’t stress too much
