I’m not for sure going but I RSVP’d just in case! I’d have to leave my house at 8am to get there before 10
@jaceymoo where do you live??
@Piktuto I live in LA! On a bad traffic day (which is everyday in LA), it could take over 2 hours to get to Riverside :-/
@jaceymoo I do not like LA traffic, but I can’t help but drive over because of all the museums hahaha. Is UCR your first choice?
I live in Orange County so its a little closer to Riverside.
Does anyone know what may happen to my admission if I withdraw from a class this semester? It’s not a pre-req or part of my IGETC/GEs. It was a class for another AS degree but I’m not doing as well in it as I anticipated…
@Piktuto No, UCR is my safety so I’m glad I already got accepted. I’m hoping for UCLA or UCI, especially since they’re much closer
Anyone else still waiting for their decision? I’m getting anxious lol.
received acceptance package in the mail today; orange county area
@choukevin I also got it yesterday!!
@jaceymoo I hope you get in!!! Best of Luck!! UCI is awesome, since they have the esports area. I would like to attend UCI but…
- I do not think I will get accepted
2.I don’t think they will be generous with my aid package. UCR is my number 1 right now
Also to everyone who is attending Highlander Day tomorrow. Should we meet under the bell tower @ 1:00 pm?
@Piktuto Thank you! I hope I get in too. Well don’t give up just yet, you never know
I checked the portal every day for a month with no decision. When April came around, I decided to stop checking. (Also because my best friend got rejected.) I got an email yesterday notifying me of my admission. This was the first decision I received so I’m glad it set a positive tone.
tl;dr

For everyone’s information: On March 1st, I immediately got a request for my Winter Quarter grades. However, my quarter didn’t end until the end of March and my grades have yet to be posted by my school or submitted to UCR. My friend who got rejected received no such request. I’m not sure if that actually makes a difference but I wanted to share the observation.
Have any transfer students had trouble with registering for orientation? I was able to first log on and it said all orientation dates were full. So I logged off thinking it could be an error and now it wont let me log in.
@ezam1990 I was on reddit about five minutes ago, it seems like the freshmen are also having the same issue.
Here is the address and phone number for you to call them.

I also got my acceptance packet!
@Piktuto thank you! I was like wth! It’s full already! Lol
Does anyone know how registration works for transfer students? I’m so excited and eager to find out my fall schedule lol. I’m happy now and then once in school I’m gonna be like ugh when does this end. Haha
@Piktuto Bell tower @ 1:00 pm sounds good to me.
@rkhayd Yassss!!!
I will be wearing a pink sweater!!! I hope everyone else can make it!! I am super excited to meet everyone!!!
I got accepted on March 26 and received my packet earlier this week. UCR was my safety school so I’m glad about that since I didn’t apply to any CSUs. Regardless, I think it’s still a great school though! I’m just happy I have a place to go this fall!!
Major: sociology
Transfer gpa: 3.55
Major gpa: 3.83
IGETC: just need one class that I’m taking right now
TAG: no
EC: work and volunteer at local adult day care
Schools pending: CAL, UCLA, UCSD, UCI
I know my gpa isn’t UCLA and CAL standards but I had very good reasons why my grades were so low. My bad grades were from 2012-2013 when I didn’t care about school because I had a lot of things going on at the time. I dropped out and came back in summer 2016 as full time and got all As. I wrote about this in my essays so hopefully they’ll take it into consideration how much I’ve grown and all the hard work I put into my classes since then. Since they take a more holistic approach, I hope I get into UCSD or UCI. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear from other UCs
ucr has been super generous with my aid package. they are the ones to beat at this point. uci and ucla would be great but I doubt they will share the same generosity.
