UC's and others

I'm applying to Columbia (hahhaa), U Chicago, U Michigan, UCs (UCI, UCSD, UCLA, UCB, UCSC), Tufts, NYU, Johns Hopkins and Reed. I plan on majoring in classics (focus on languages) and/or linguistics with a plan to go into law school (my parents are pushing me. I love the law.) I'm a California resident if that matters for the UCs.

Anyways, my transcript is a bit unorthodox in a few respects but here goes:

The above three things are complete lies

I had a stint over the summer at the Tompkins County Public Library managing the lost and found.

I know my lack of mathematical prowess will hurt me, but this is how I see it:
Columbia and Reed are waay out of my league. Chicago I have 50/50. UC's are probably all match except of course UCLA and UCB. Tufts, Michigan and Johns Hopkins 45/55. NYU, I dont see how I couldn't get in. Anyways, have fun lowering my self esteem!

Your SAT I is good for all of your schools, but without a class rank or GPA it is impossible to tell. Your ECs seem limited. Still, you have a fair shot at all of your schools.

My school doesn't give class ranks. This probably has to do with the insane grade inflation we have.
According to my school's website:
3.94 weighted 3.95 unweighted (what?)

Mors venit? Well I didn't think it'd come so soon.

Oh and here's my ranking of desirability:
1. Chicago
2. Columbia (hahahah)
3. U Michigan
4. UC Berkeley
5. UCLA
6. Tufts. I hear they reject students better than me! For being better!
7. Johns Hopkins
8. Reed. Reed is great and all but its in Oregon. O-r-e-g-o-n.
9. UCSD. Sand Diego is nice and all but it's far too close to home.
9. UCSC! Hippies smokin' pot all day won't lend me any credibility :( Otherwise I wouldn't even be posting this here and just go there by default.
10. UCI I live in Irvine. I hate Irvine. In fact, I go the highschool RIGHT NEXT to UCI.

mofmog:

UCB/UCLA: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCI: Safety
UCSC: Super Safety

UCB/UCLA: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCI: Safety
UCSC: Super Safety

bump for other schools

"Hippies smokin' pot all day won't lend me any credibility" - that's right. cause every single student there does drugs all day long. in fact, they don't have classes.
"its in Oregon. O-r-e-g-o-n." - so? care to give a reason as to why Oregon is so bad?

Pompous much?

7 UCSC DOES have a huge reputation as a pot smoking school and that stigma will follow me. I have nothing against pot smoking or UCSCs academics in general but sadly our world is largely reputation based. Also Oregon has too much family and I'll be expected to visit. Also, I don't care about beauty in terms of where I live; I fit into more urban settings.

8 Columbia is funny because I have very little chance of getting in. I call it my uber-reach school.

Regarding my SAT scores: Yea I know they're unimpressive. I was kicking myself for not getting a 2400 :( Oh well. And when I say my parents are pushing me, I'm not implying that I DON'T want to go to law school.

I dont think you quite understand so I will not bother furthering your efforts.

I'm so sorry I don't understand. I was just giving reasons for why I ranked those schools. I mean, if I really didn't want to go those schools, why would I be applying to them in the first place?
