Okay so, I'm planning on transferring out of UCSB at the end of fall quarter freshman year and transferring to a community college in order to take studio classes to make a good portfolio and complete my GE's so that I can attend a architecture program at another university. I'm skeptical about whether I'm making a mistake, especially because I am not one hundred percent sure that I want to be an architect. I need advice on what architecture school is like, preferably from students majoring in architecture. For example, could you tell me why architecture requires so many all-nighters and what do you do during these all-nighters (drawing, planning, reading history, etc?). Also, what is the biggest surprise in majoring in architecture because my friend said that it is not what you'd expect... I would also like any feedback on how transferring from a CC to another campus is.

the biggest reason for all-nighters here at 'sc tends to be students working on models, revising and correcting mistakes. sometimes it’ll be for autocad, however.

^Plus, models take a long time to build, youre always changing things in your models because you think of a better idea, AutoCAD and correcting lines on CAD, which takes forever, there are so many things! But I also know people who have never stayed past 12AM in studio, mainly because they are fast workers or they just do CAD in their dorms.
