@memelover123, congrats! Did your portal change to reflect the Regents and acceptance?
@memelover123 did you just receive something in the mail?
Congrats to everyone with Regents! UCSB has been the most generous of the UC’s with $$$ in the past- and will most likely be again this year.
@memelover123 Congrats! Did u get the snail mail like yesterday or today? I believe today being Sunday, no postal service, isn’t it?
@Suave123 @glasshalffull123 @OneAndOnlySJ
Hi, received it yesterday but didn’t check mailbox until today. My portal hasn’t changed and still says decision pending but the mailed letter said “preliminary admission”
^ All UC’s/CSU’s include some type of conditional term in their acceptances letters b/c they will need to confirm your grades at the end of the semester.
UCR Regents - $10,000/year
UCD Regents - $7500/year
UCM Regents - $7000/year
UCSB Regents - $6000/year
UCSC Regents - $5000/year

My son received the UCSB Regents Scholar letter dated 2/6/19. Unweighted 4.0, 35 ACT.
Just received UCSB regents letter today! 1600 SAT, 4.0 UW. Congrats to everyone!
Are they still rolling out admissions or do you think it’s done?
@Gumbymom I’m surprised to see so few regents posts. And the dates are all different. Are they rolling? Do you suspect more are coming? The Chancellor’s reception in NorCal is on Sunday so you’d think everyone would be notified by then right? Thx as always for all your great insight.
Oh if it helps anyone, I know there were questions about who gets chancellors, regents, both, etc. My regents packet had no chancellors invite in it, and I never got an invite before that. I think it kinda depends on whether you live really close to a reception—though someone probably said that before me!
@collegemom111111: Since the Regent scholars are notified by snail mail, just like the Chancellor reception invites, there will lag times between when the letters were mailed and received. Also Regent scholars not living near a reception site probably did not get an invite as stated above by @reinawrites. You also have to remember, College confidential posters are a small minority and the majority of recipients for either the Chancellor invite or Regents do not post on this website.
Regents received in Nor Cal, large envelope arrived on Saturday 2/16.
Apologies if this was previously answered, but I don’t recall seeing it. Does anyone know how many Regents scholarships are awarded at UCSB (and if you know, UCLA, Cal and UCD). Thanks so much and congrats to all those who have gotten them ??
6k per year (24k total)
@crknwk2000 It says on the UCSB website that the Regents scholarship is awarded to the top 2% of admitted students, so that would imply 600 are offered each year. It appears (albeit based on an article from a long time ago) that less than 10% of those actually take the offer, because most of them will get into a higher ranking UC (or other school).
