i’m starting to get worried about ucsb…its my third choice but still…
i got into irvine…3.5 with TAP and I can see my ucla FA summary…TAP as well
but no TAP for ucsb…
possibly in at ucla and rejected at ucsb? possible?

missanab, what is your major? I suppose a rejection from UCSB is possible, but with your stats it seems unlikely.

I have a 3.6, am a history major, and still have yet to hear from SB.

i’m a history major
hmmmm

i did tag with ucsb and still pending.

How much harder is it to transfer as a computer science major? If you don’t have a few prereqs done, are you screwed?

I got into UCSB in the Arts, and I didn’t even have to submit a portfolio. I may suck balls at art for all they know. They also asked me to send an update of my Spring 09 grades and I never did. Do you guys think they still care, even though I’ve already been accepted?

okay i just got rejected
this was my safety school
i dont know
what to do

what was your major and stats?

for u biz econ majors…what were ur gpas??

I’m curious, are there any people deciding to go to UCSB over UCLA or CAL?

Only if I can’t keep to my contract. It’s my safety net.

i found out why i was rejected.
well awhile ago they emailed me asking what i got in my winter class it was Stats, and i told them. Here is the error, they never recoded the grade so on my application it says nothing for my grade so they assumed i haven’t completed any math courses which is why i was rejected. so they messed up big time and now i have to appeal to all the schools i applied to

vision… that sucks man. that’s good grounds to appeal.

well, i have no idea what it means exactly to be “decision pending” beyond the fact that i have not been accepted or waitlisted yet. like one poster with a 4.0 GPA, i too have a perfect GPA, but i am older and did apply to a very competative department.
“decision pending” is far better than “not admitted”! so i am not that upset. but i really hope to get in, like many of you. those who were accepted to davis, i hope you will attend that school because davis is one of the top schools in the world. a great school higher ranking than UCSB. but santa barbara is a much nicer place to live! good luck everyone. just wanted to post and say that it is very competative to get into good public schools even with a perfect GPA. population increases are a factor, and i can only guess that the reasons for pending decisions vary. but a good reason would be for the school to wait for all the declined acceptance responses, and once they sort out exactly who will be attending, we might be sent acceptance letters at that time. good luck!

don’t bring back a thread from 2009. There’s a current UCSB thread

I talked to an admissions counselor and she told me she evaluated about 40 applicants and those 40 applicants will be notified if they got admitted or not. so I believe UCSB isn’t doing this in batches like UCSD
