I’ve been accepted as a transfer student to both UCSB and UCSC but I’m not sure which one has a program more suited to my interests. I want to focus on phonetics, historical linguistics, and language evolution, and I favour applied over theoretical (I like both though). Any thoughts on the matter would be extremely useful. Thanks
