UCSB Premier Programs?

Hello all. I'm undecided when it comes to my major and was hoping that someone could enlighten me as to what UCSB's best programs are. Their Biopsychology major appealed to me but I've not been able to find any sources for the quality of their program. Does anyone know the reputation for any of their programs? Thanks!

There are alot of great programs but off the top of my head I'd say all of the sciences-- biology and physics in particular-- engineering, geography, religious studies, business econ, psych, and communications. These are the ones that I have heard of in terms of their reputation for being good on campus and/or they have national research centers and BIG repuations. I go there so I may be biased... :-)

is the bio very competitive like at UCI or are students friendly...and im a bio major where do you think i should live?

I think one of the best things about UCSB is its laid back nature. Everyone is serious about their work but not cut-throat to get ahead like at soem schools.
As for where to live, all the dorms have special interest halls, I'd look at those. But really, it may be that living with people who don't have the exact same interest as you is what makes it interesting. Good luck!

thats how me and my friends are for the most part which i think makes it alot of fun
