i'm thinking their letting all the freshman know first and then the transfers little by little

lol@killer22

I gave up all hopes for SB. They're probably reading this board and laughing at us.

UCSB needs to stop blazing and surfing and get on it.

Killer do you know your friends stats?

I just talked with a very helpful admissions officer at UCSB today. She said that admissions decisions are released everyday from March 17-May 1 and that they are not released in bulk several times a month. She also stated that the order in which they are looked at are: California CC, California 4 year, and then Out of State University. She basically said that if you are out of state, you won't be hearing for a while since those decisions are more complex than California CC. Hope this helps!

thanks that was very helpful, i'm cc so hopefully i'll be hearing very soon when the freshman decisions are over. I wonder if they are released once a day or throughout the day

Thanks cubozoa_gurl, but it ****es me off that some CSU (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1059974441-post56.html) and UC-UC (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1059978994-post95.html) transfers already got their admission decision but not me, CCC transfer :(

cubozoa_gurl,

Did she happen to mention if there is time of day to expect when the information will be released?

Also, it doesn't appear that decisions are being released everyday. Maybe what she means is that decisions can be released any day but they just haven't released recently.

The members of this board are only a small percentage of the total applicants. Just because nobody on the board has reported receiving a decision since the initial batch doesn't mean decisions aren't being released daily.

Eirenarch,

I was contemplating the same thing. I can see it if like one person received something yesterday. Out of everyone on here, we have only seen released for last Monday and Tuesday.

Oh well... we still have to wait anyway :(

Hi All! The lady I talked with kind of emplied that the decisions are released once a day everyday until May 1. I assume that since there were over 8,000 transfer apps, that many people not on college confidential are hearing (I only recently discovered this website). I didn't ask too many specific questions as to what time of day they are released, but I gathered from her that the main focus on transfer apps will be after April 1st. She said that once freshmen decisions are done (till March 31) that starting April 1, transfer decisions will be given full priority. She also stated that if you are out of state, don't expect to hear from anyone for a while (I'm guessing after April 15 even though she did not say specifics on this) since out of state require a more in depth look at the apps to see which credits will transfer. Hope this answers more questions!

so that's refreshing, by the time i go on spring break, i still won't have any idea if i got into any school. NICE.

ksbr27,
Are you out of state? Because if you are in state transfer or cc you could hear anyday from now until May 1st.

no, i go to a CCC (SMC) but based on how large the SMC pool is i wouldn't be surprised if i didn't hear before i go on spring break (april 4)

I received an acceptance letter last Wednesday in the mail. I hope that helps someone.

My friends' stats were below a 3.0.

Admitted on Monday (3/17) around 11pm-midnight.
2.8ish GPA
4 years at CCC, 1 year at CSU

i applied to UCSB bus econ with emphasis in accouting major
TAG
IGETC certified
all pre-req's done
3.57

and of course....decision pending...im sick of this waiting two of my good friends already got their acceptance letters the 17th. Im thinking the apps have a lot to do with majors, if you apply to one of the major's (such as mine and some of the engineering majors) they might take longer to review your grades in those mandatory pre-req's. I already got into UCSC but SB is far superior academically and socially. I also got into U of Alabama but that is a strech for me to leave Cali.

All this being said...Hurry the eff up santa barbara

Hmm major might have something to do with it. I was admitted as a communication major.

i don't think it's by major because I am a communications major and I'm still pending. I also think it's unfair that people who went to CSU's are getting accepted before the straight CCC students are.
