hey giraffes and jserrano, would you guys mind tellin me when you applied(e.g. late nov)? thanks

Hi everyone, I was admitted to all of the other schools that I applied to (a few state schools) but I honestly have no interest in attending any of them. I think I will either appeal, or maybe wait another semester/year and try for SJSU or UCSC again. SJSU has a little more of what I want than UCSC…
I submitted my application on November 15.
If some of you are still waiting, they actually don’t send you a message about being denied. You have to log in to your portal and click “application status” on the left side. I don’t know why they hide it there, but that’s how I found out.
Sorry to everyone that didn’t get in… UCSC was my first choice as well and I am pretty upset that I was not chosen, but alas, I don’t feel too bad because I think the budget cuts are to blame and not the school itself.

Jserrano, that sounds like a good idea. What is your GPA?

@kalon I applied Nov.12th.
I had my TAG accepted, but I ended up with a D in my math class, so that pretty much screwed me over. I’m in stats right now though and I’m getting an A so that’s why I’m going to appeal. Also waiting on Davis but if I didn’t get Santa Cruz I doubt it highly that I got Davis. Besides, UCSC is my first pick. Still reeling from the news actually.
@giraffes my transfer gpa is 3.2ish (thanks to the aforementioned D).
I have been a my CC for so long that doing another year seems like torture and unfathomable. If my appeal doesn’t work, probably going to go to the CC in Santa Cruz for a year then try again.

didn’t get in. going to go to riverside.

When you submitted your application doesn’t matter.

Good luck to those appealing. It’s always worth a shot if you really wanted to go to UCSC. It might be beneficial to call and find out the precise details of what caused you to be denied. It could give you a better idea what to include in your appeal :)

Hey everyone! I was talking to a ucsc representative today and they told me that the second bulk application decisions will be sent out tomorrow April 1 good luck to all!! And that if you don’t hear back till the 14th, call the applications office.

@slugkisser is that for real?? I thought it was April 18! “second bulk application” would be like the ones submitted last week?

I hope so! I guess we’ll find out today if they told me the truth :P

(Slugkisser) did they say what times they would be getting released by any chance? :)

No they didn’t =/ I hate how they give us crazy different dates… But i’ll definitely be checking all day, everyday haha. People! Let me know if you here anything I’m crossing my fingers and toes for all of us!

When did you guys send your appeals?

has anyone else experienced a delay in receiving their admission packets? its been two weeks and i still havent gotten mine

I just got home from work an hour ago and found my admission packet in the mailbox.
