I’m on the waitlist too!
Hoping we hear by the 15th.
Hopefully it’s BEFORE the 15th!!! God this wait is killing me
Im waiting on ucsb and ucsc. Literally would be happy with anyone accepting me but they’re both taking so long…
Btw does anyone know how many people opted in for the waitlist? I heard 7000 people were offered the waitlist option, which is scary bc thats a lot of people
I messages them on fb page to ask do they expect to pull off any students from the waitlist, and this is how they replied:

It doesn’t sound so good ugh
If they have open spots, they will probably accept people from the waitlist by now, instead of still waiting for other UCs 
But! Because the waitlist results from the other UC’s this year were in the waitlisted student’s favor, then that would open up more spots for us!
But UCI and SB have yet to release their decisions, right?
The UCSC Freshman Waitlist FAQ states that “We will notify you no later than mid-May.” May 15th is three days away.
The waiting is hard and it would have been nice to know how many people opted in. But just because they haven’t released the results yet, does not mean they don’t have spots. It does not mean anything one way or the other. They are doing exactly what they have originally said – people will find out mid-May.
Would they just leave you hanging and never write to you again if you don’t get off the wait list?? Or will we at least get a form letter that says “thanks but sorry?”

Maybe it will be all acceptances so that it takes them so long to organize !

@Oracion What came up on the portal, was it a specific message addressing waitlist candidates?
@harmansingh it looks as same as the rejection letter, " thank you for your interests in UC Santa Cruz blablabla…"
And I think that’s for us waitlist students
