Hey guys! I started this thread for us to share whether we were admitted for Fall 2014 off the waitlist. Last year they heard pretty early and I'm hoping we'll receive news soon. Good luck!

Hi, I hope we hear early too. I mean late is fine for me also, I just want to get in. Otherwise UCR it is for me. I wouldn’t rely too much on what happened last year though because while they took everyone off the waitlist last year and let some people know before May 1, the year before they took no one off the waitlist so it can be unpredictable.
Some other useful information, make what you can and want of it: 3,616 students were offered a position on the waitlist, we don’t know how many opted in. This was more than last year and in general the acceptance rate was higher so idk if that’s a good thing. Also they aim to enroll 300 more than they did last year. Their class of 2018 facebook group has 897 members but these groups always have less members than have actually SIRed due to people not having a Facebook, knowing about the group, or choosing to be in it.

I’m on the waitlist too and it’s KILLING ME UGH I need to know already. I really want to go there, I don’t want to go to UCSB lol

10 more days until it’s literally mid-May. I really want to know too! And @JillianTrimble hey while UCSB is a party school it sure beats UCR which is where I’m going as of now.

@JillianTrimble How weird, I accepted UCSB and i’m waiting for UCSC too lol

@navajas what’s your major?

LOL, I’m in the same situation @chs2014. Currently “enrolled” at UCR until UCSC replies back about my waitlist status…

@Asku96 Haha while I found UCR to have a relatively nice campus(I went for Highlander Day), I feel like I would be happier at UCSC for many reasons. In terms of major it doesn’t really matter. However I’m from Norcal, the Bay Area, so UCSC would be an easier transition as I get homesick easily. I don’t like having to wait this long. I know they said mid-May but they said that last year and started letting people know as early as end of April so this make s me anxious. If they wait until the end to say we all (like 2012 and years before) or some people didn’t get in, I will be upset.

I really hope that they accept people off the waitlist. I will be so sad if they don’t Why can’t they do what they did last year and take everybody off lol

I love you so much UCSC but I am definitely not a patient girl. You’ve got me on my toes.

Maybe more people SIRed than last year which is why it is taking long to figure out numbers if any.

@chs2014 Ahhh I see. Well its kind of the opposite for me. I live in SoCal so UCR is in my comfort zone however it wasn’t exactly my first choice to go there. I think I’d prefer to go to UCSC too. Well fingers crossed for all of us that we get our acceptance letters soon!

What’s all your guy’s majors??

My first choice was Undeclared in Business/Econ and I forgot my second choice. I’m in the Class of 2018 Facebook group and what is pissing me off is the amount of students who are slacking in terms of grades below a C or GPA below 2.0. Their being rescinded is not going to affect us because we find out before they get rescinded if that happens. Not only that it’s unfair because I would love to be in their position and have a spot and if I did I would not be failing to meet the provisions of admission. They don’t realize how we would love to have their spots.

They’re like bragging about their bad grades?

No they’re asking what should they do in terms of contacting the school or asking if they will get rescinded.

My application status changed on my portal. No email though. Anyone else?

Yes mine changed and I didn’t get in :(

No room on the waitlist it seems.

Nobody got in.
