Between UCSC & UCR which school actually has a better business program? I know UCSC isn't as big and it revolves around economics which I'm not really too excited about and UCR actually has a business program compared to UCSC. UCSC seems more limited but seeing on how UCR is still a considered a new school, I dont know which has a better program.

I’d have to imagine UCR would be the better option for business, but I would think about where you want to work long-term. Going to school where you want to live and work makes sense.

Well I live in So Cal and would like to stay in the LA area. One of my other problem is being able to experience campus life. If I go to UCR I won’t get that opportunity since my brother’s already renting a place outside of campus with his friends, I would be forced to stay with him just to save money. Compared to going to UCSC and being able to dorm.

UCSC is in a better location. It will have a more fun campus life. More students choose UCSC as their preferred choice than choose UCR; they WANT to go to UCSC. Lifestyle-wise UCSC is going to be more fun, especially if you like hippy people.

However, if your main concern is getting a job after you graduate in the LA area, UCR is a better choice for that.

What if I wanted to go into like accounting / finance? ? I was reading around that UCSC was good for that but in their area.

Wow you will be sorry if you dont pick UCR for business. UCR has the biggest business school for all UC schools. UCR business school made it to the top 10. UCSC doesn’t focus to on business for its school overall. DO your research check out The School Business at UCR and The A. Gary Anderson management school at UCR.

The OP definitely made his decision already but UCSC is better than UCR. Definitely better academically and is in a better location. (the campus is gorgeous!)
