That happens every day at midnight

^ Yeah, it happens every day. Blargh.

Still haven’t heard a decision from UCSD. This sucks.

i like how everyone gave up posting when we realized that the next batch of acceptances didnt come today. haha who knows, maybe sunday or monday. either way the next four weeks will tell us.

What, FOUR WEEKS?!!?!?!?

I know that last year UCSD accepted everyone down to a 3.0, but is that expected to go up this year? I have a 3.07 for poli sci (no TAG, but I do have IGETC) and I highly doubt I’m going to get in :(

Now is not the time to wane, Grimes99! I’m just like you for the most part, 3.19 GPA no TAG but with IGETC. I think we should be fine if the UCSD admissions counselors are true to their previous words.

In any case, let’s be steadfast. It is going to go our way.

I have a 2.8…what are my chances of getting in?

I hope so man! The counselor rained on my parade when I talked to her a few months ago though, and I’ve been bummed ever since.

The WORST part is that I was ONE class away from doing TAG, but it was a core class (math) and I had to have it done by fall of last year in order to qualify for 2011 TAG entrance. I’m taking it this semester instead, due to the fact that I had to take another math class in order to get into calc. It just sucks that I was so close to having a guarantee :(

@yupsss, probably nonexistent. Sorry, but they admitted down to a 3.0 last year, and there was an increase in the number of transfer applicants this year.

Grimes99 you are an idiot. If you look at the stats, 1 in 10 accepted students had below a 3.0 for Fall 2009 at UCSD.

So dont go killin peoples hopes when you have no idea what your talking about.

10% of the 7000 students means 700 admitted students had below a 3.0

I’m sorry for regurgitating exactly what the counselors at UCSD told me, which was that UCSD admitted every not-impacted applicant down to a 3.0. But yeah, they probably admitted a couple east African language studies applicants with 2.8s.

But yes, I’m an idiot. I should have known the counselors were wrong.

Calm down you little hyena.

Well I didnt mean to offend you Im sorry about that… but its kind of a big deal to tell someone they have no chance of getting admitted.

I think the counseler meant everyone above a 3.0 was admitted without question…but that just means the real decisions were in the sub-3.0 range…not that they stopped admitting at 3.0

lol.

lbc: “You are an idiot”

Grimes: “blablabla”

lbc: “Well I didn’t mean to offend you…”

Reminds me of Will Ferrell in that racing movie: “I mean this with absolute respect, but you’re an idiot”

My counselor might have been off her meds that day, but she definitely said that the cutoff for non-impacted students was a 3.0.

Now to re-answer his question: 2.8? Let’s be honest, even going off that 10% number that’s a pretty slim chance, but still a chance!

Feel better?

Well I retract my apology…and restate the fact you are indeed an idiot.

im still waiting with a 2.97 retaking a 5 unit class not needed and have a 4.0 this semester with a bio calc spanish and english class. i hope i get in if not appeal it is…but hopefully ill see you guys all at ucsd!

lbc, aren’t you supposed to be a smart college kid? Shouldn’t you at least know the definition of “fact” by now?

I havn’t been on for a few days, has there been any sort of update?

^not for me
