The UC system supposedly doesn’t use affirmative action, so your ethnicity isn’t going to really play a factor. However, if you’re first generation or experienced profound life difficulties the school will take that into consideration. If you want a decent shot, though, I highly recommend you increase your standardized test scores. I wouldn’t worry too much about the 2 on Geography. I know plenty of people here who scored 2’s and 3’s on all their AP’s. SD takes other factors into consideration.

That being said, be aware that UCSD is incredibly expensive for OOS students. I’m talking on the scale of $50,000 a year. Also, I should give you a heads up that it’s very competitive if you intend on being pre-med.If med school is your goal it doesn’t matter where you go as long as you have a high GPA and high MCAT scores. It’s also a huge school, so if you are keen on receiving individualized attention this isn’t the place to seek it. If you’re interested in pursuing research, however, SD is a great school home to several world-renown research labs. It’s also a solid school for engineering and the sciences in general as well as a few other fields like economics and political science.

Good luck!

No I do not want pre med I am more interested in the animals science part of biology

So would you say I have a pretty decent good chance at getting accepted …

i know this thread might be a little older … but bump  lol …
