What do you guys think? Man, i really regret signing up for SATII's again :(, and now I cant take I's anymore

you did list your single parent/low income thing under special circumstances, right?

UCSD will evaluate your application by computer...gpa/satI will hurt you, so your computerized score probably won't be high enough...but the exc and essays should give you a sufficient boost after the computer round to give you a good chance of getting in

I'm applying to UCSD as well, but my situation is kind of your reverse...

According to the article, the cut-off score for last year was 7,456 out of 11,100 points. You can do the math and roughly get an estimate of where you are...

UCs typically put double the influence on SAT IIs compared to SAT I. So, you would halve the SAT I score for UCSD's particular way of doing it. UC Davis puts the same emphasis on the SAT I as the SAT IIs. It depends on the school; Berkeley says they look at each person holistically. Eligibility to get into a UC school is all the same though. I don't have the exact figures for that one, but it's very easy to be eligible and that scale shouldn't even be referred to. The different UC schools have different systems for admissions, though.

wow, thanks, quite literally, it all depends on whether or not I an considered low income...If I am, I'm in. if not, I'll have to see how generous the addcoms are with their ec points

"whats the point in the essays if the entire system is based solely off point value?"
that's what I was about to ask too... cuz I mean if everything is based on a single number... how will essays affect the score?

QUESTIONS
What's considered to be LOW INCOME? Would 35,000 be considered low?
In order to get 300 points for both Demonstrated Leadership and Special Awards would being a teacher in a Mexico mission and element leader-position in Civil Air Patrol count? For Special Awards- would a cello competition award and certificates of Merit for recognized musicians/track and field award count as 300 or just 100 or 50?
Sorry... just need some clarification

its the same thing with me in that everything depends on whether i come from a low income family or not.....does the point system give partial credit for that category or is it u get the 300 points or u dont get any points?

For the year 2004, a score of 7456 out of 11,100 was required.. do you guys think that the numbers will increase/decrease for us '05 hs seniors?
