jkwalker123 post #47, I’m not buying the fact you got rejected at UCSD, nor do I agree with your assertion that top quality CA applicants such as yourself would be rejected at ANY of the UC’s with your stats. I’m guessing your stats are not what you say they are OR you didn’t really get rejected.

Now, as for my S (he doesn’t look at CC):

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I really think it’s because of the budget cuts, but many would argue otherwise. I’d put the blame on my EC’s in this case, because the rest of my application was spectacular in my opinion…[/li][/ul]General Comments: Good luck everybody, UCSD is a pain. I really think that this is a result of the budget cuts the UC system faced. Don’t take any of the letters they send out as “likely letters”, because I received one for being a “top applicant.” Turns out I was wrong to assume I would be a shoe-in. Kind of ridiculous though, considering my stats are way over the averages… UCSD is insane this year though, hopefully it gets better in the years ahead. Remember if you get rejected, not all hope is lost. You still have the opportunity to transfer out later on.

During September and October, I thought this was my target school, and I thought I had a really good chance of getting in. I was pretty much in disbelief when I found out I got rejected. I was in more disbelief when I came on here and found out the other types of people that got rejected. What kind sucks is that I have a friend, who has about the same point total as me (when you add GPA, Test Scores, A-G courses), and less extracurriculars, that got in… Mainly, I believe, because he is low income and first generation. Oh well, life is life, time to move on.
