This isn’t the first time UCSD has screwed up something with admissions.

So, I checked like 2 hours ago and I got accepted and I check again now and it says they’re reviewing my application. What just happened?!

What is this “housing trick?” Also, if you did not receive a phone call does that mean you didn’t get in??

@CollegeHopef the same happened to me! I’m gonna say that it’s a glitch, no way they took our acceptances away…

Yes, right around 12pm I was able to log in and see my admissions status. There was a picture of the mascot and a couple of people in school colors, along with a brief letter from the dean and a notification of the college/major I was accepted to! I was able to log in again about thirty minutes later, but nothing since then, and I feel like the servers are overloaded enough already so I’m not going to try again, haha.

Maybe at this point it would be better to wait for the official email and get out of the house for a bit? One of my friends hasn’t been able to log on at all and she’s heading to the store to get some pre-celebratory/consolatory ice cream.

So the housing trick thing isn’t valid anymore?

UCSD probably noticed that the enormously large number of people tried to check their status so what most likely happened is that UCSD took off all notifications from their website so that people will stop trying to check their status in large hordes so the website will be back on.

Can someone please explain the housing trick to the unenlightened portion of us who have zero idea what you are talking about?

@edmonton I found out the same way you did, I got the paper packet in the mail with an acceptance and Regents scholars this morning. It let me log in but still gave me the system unavailable message, hopefully it’ll let me in soon. Good luck to the rest of you guys!

Can someone please explain the housing trick??

^Someone explained it pretty we’ll on like page 25 or 26. The function is currently unavailable though.

@edani96 wait a minute

HOUSING TRICK AS PREVIOUSLY POSTED BY SOMEONE <copy><paste></paste></copy>

So basically for those of you who wants to check your admission decision earlier than the regular schedule, go to
<a href=“Link Family”>Link Family;
and check the message in red,
If you get, “The housing application will become available in late-March. Please check back. If you would like to learn more about housing at UCSD, please use the links in the Housing menu above.”
Congratulations! You are accepted!
Otherwise if you get the, “Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact the Housing Office at 858-534-4010 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 4pm.”, good luck on your other acceptances.

I just logged into my account and it says they’re still reviewing my application? What?!

@dishkyaoon thanks so much for your help. Has this been proven to be true?

@happilee I’m getting the same thing

@edani96 few people have claimed that this trick is legit. Claim has not been refuted yet. As of this moment, LINK is not working.

Dude why the heck did getting into UCSD suddenly feel like getting into UCLA. It seems like barely 30% are getting acceptance letters, and based on the housing trick I’m not one of them! 2200 SAT 4.08 UC GPA decent personal statement man I guess what was good enough last year isn’t this year…

I’m getting this after clicking on housing:
