@MegumiKato I’m surprised that you were rejected with those stats, especially since UCSD isn’t the most prestigious school. Have you been accepted to any other schools?
@Dhruv97
I was also rejected from UC Davis. My 1st semester senior grades (Which were sent to UCs as well was a 4.1 or 4.2 weighted)
The only schools I’ve been admitted to are UIUC for Mathematics & Computer Science as well as University of British Columbia for Business & Computer Science.
Wondering if I should waitlist myself @SD and/or appeal to Davis. Since my application, the only new thing that’s occurred is that I’ve accepted a new internship at a Neuroscience Tech startup located in SF.
Honestly pretty disappointed haha
Accepted for mechanical engineering. (Warren) ~4.45 gpa, 33 act superscore
Accepted to UCSD, Revelle for Communications which was my 1st choice

For those who are waitlisted, be aware that you can opt in for the waitlist AND appeal at the same time. You have to have a basis for appeal but the 2 actions are evaluated separately.
@MegumiKato Still surprised that you were rejected from UCD, which is lower than UCSD. But you got into UIUC, which I was waitlisted for, and it’s ranked higher than either of these schools

@Megumikato, I’m pretty shocked you did not get in. Your stats are higher than some who did get accepted. Do you have a copy of your application? Review it and make sure you did not miss anything. Also, have someone read your essays to confirm they answered the prompt. Then look into the appeal process. Good luck!
Did anyone from OOS get in? Or was all/most OOS waitlisted?
Accepted
Applied Major: Computer Science

Since computer science is an impacted major, how hard is it to switch into CS? Also how hard is it to change your college (i.e. Warren -> Sixth)?
Can somebody please help?!

Waitlisted OOS, 30 ACT, 3.96 UW, 4.14 W, URM (Hispanic), Several extra curriculars.
Kind of surprised, but expected it. Well…no chances at ivies or LACs for sure now haahha
@sallyyouna how do you know that ChemE isn’t impacted this year? Would it be the same case for transfers?
@Arriba I’ll look over my UC app later tonight to see if I made any mistakes.
I would appeal but I don’t quite know what I would be able to say.
Not sure if any of the following would give me a better shot:
- Interning at a neuroscience tech startup in SF
- Tutoring underprivileged immigrant students
I’ve still got Berkeley and LA to wait for (And I got into UIUC & UBC) so I’m not too disheartened.
More disappointed/demoralized than anything
@gsants I have about the same stats and are OOS (Except asian not an URM). I think they waitlisted a lot of OOS this year, if you google it some campuses have a cap on the number of OOS acceptances which kinda screws us
I got in OOS. From NY @Computergurl1
