@UCSDbound2015 Congrats on your acceptance! Unfortunately, I don’t believe already being in an impacted major has a significant impact on your ability to switch majors. In addition, I don’t know how much your high school resume will help–I’ve heard that if you really want to switch majors, your GPA in the lower-division courses for your desired major is what matters most.
@sophiewophie Congrats on your acceptance! Changing colleges is pretty unlikely unless you can prove that being in Warren will mess up your graduation date. I can see why you wanted ERC as an international studies major, but on the bright side, now you have fewer GEs to worry about.
To everyone else, seriously, don’t worry! Decisions will be out in a couple of days whether you freak out rn or not. Don’t call admissions, it’s a waste of their time and yours.
UCSB will release its decisions on the 16th, so hopefully UCSD does too. Fingers crossed.
There is still a risk though. If one gets in UCSD as undeclared major, and he/she decides to apply for an impacted major later, e.g., bioengineering. It’s possible that he/she will not get in if his/her grades are not as good as the other applicants.
