UCSD Class of 2022

I really hope it’s this week haha

SO SCARED!! good luck everyone

@Tangledfan for at least the engineering majors, we will be calling Monday through Friday in the evening (4:30pm) starting March 19th… idk if they are doing a separate calling campaign for other majors

@person2000 @ironweasal idk for sure if it’s only people who applied for engineering. I’m a current Bioengineering student… so they have me calling engineering people. There could definitely be others getting calls even if they aren’t engineering students! My guess is that general admissions are coming out the last week of March

Why is UCSD releasing decisions later this year?

@Runningpanda18 How are you liking bioengineering? That is the major my son applied to.

@lovespink UCSD is definitely very strong isn’t he field of bioE! I haven’t taken many bioE classes as you spend your first two years mainly fulfilling lower division class requirements. However, the class I’m enrolled in rn is great! You get a very hands on experience and have the opportunity to 3-D print in the lab. Additionally, there are several clubs for bioengineering and first years are even able to get in on research with professors if they put in the effort!

Fingers crossed it is this week but, based on comments, I am thinking it may be next week at the earliest.

Honestly guys I was so excited for this Friday but now it looks like every single UC I applied to is releasing next week, pretty much on the same day. Ms. Sun even posted on her blog that it San Diego will likely release on the 16th.

@ucsdcscholar @Runningpanda18

Since both of you are volunteering with the calling campaign, could either of you explain more about how the calling campaign works? I understand it is later this year so we will receive admissions decisions later than previous years (most likely), but who is called? I am an out of state bioengineering applicant, but neither first-generation college or low income–if I do not receive a call could I still be accepted into UCSD as a bioengineering major? And if I do not get called, but can still be granted with acceptance to the university, does that mean anything different for me (no scholarship, not given first choice major, etc.)?

@amz1717 so the calling campaign is just to reach out to people who are in the minority, low income, first gen, etc. You can absolutely be accepted into the university under you top choice major even if you aren’t called. I personally wasn’t called either and found out I got in with everyone else on the portal in the afternoon. Finding out that you are Getting via the portal instead of through a phone call doesn’t really mean anything unless you’re a regents scholar! Also go BioE! Let me know if you have any questions about the major and I can try my best to answer them for you!!

Are rejections sent out the same day as acceptances?

In recent few years, UCSD has sent out all notices to the portal at once for accept, waitlist, deny and awards (regents etc.) UCD does the same.

@Runningpanda18 Do you know If you are awarded regent scholarship if it will be listed on your portal? Or do they only inform applicants via phone call?

is the decisions coming out friday or next week friday?

@kle2018 I’m pretty sure they put it on your portal and in your acceptance packet that you will receive in the mail

i really hope the decisions come out friday cause this is killing me inside

Thursday already… I’m so nervous! I know it’ll probably actually come out sometime next week, but I’m still watching the portal like a hawk [-O<

SAMMMEEEEE

I’ve heard that it might come out this week or early next week but at the latest it’d be next week friday
