Hey prospective Tritons! I haven’t seen a thread that encompasses both transfer students and first time undergraduates, so I decided to make this. I figured we could all talk and (hopefully) relieve some of the stress of waiting.
UCSD is my first choice, and I really hope I can attend in a few short months. I hope to see you all there!
from myApplication web portal, click on Housing tab-> Off Campus Housing
then click on Students tab, log in again
then click on List Myself As an Available Roommate
Do you see the generated @ucsd.edu email? Does it mean anything?
Hello fellow SD hopefuls! I am actually a transfer but I figured I’d pop in here since the infamous housing trick was being discussed. I can login into there and see a UCSD email… But it seems so early on, can this really mean anything already?
@splp12345@blackonyx I can click on “List Myself as an Available Roomate,” but I don not have an email. I’m very discouraged. Could this already be a negative decision?
I’m not sure. Part of me wants to feel hopeful because I see one but then it just seems like it’s way too early for anything. We need someone more versed to weigh in!
@socalmom007@blackonyx who knows if it means anything. So far, I am the only one to not have one.
Question: did all of you receive emails to set up your “MyApplication?” Because I just went to the website and signed straight up from there. I still haven’t gotten an email formally “inviting” me to activate my account.
@poliscihopeful7 I didn’t get an email inviting me to set it up either, I just did it on my own also.
I wouldn’t worry about not getting an email for that yet, they seems to be slow getting emails out. For example I officially submitted the application on nov 30th and then officially got an email from UCSD on dec 14th saying they received it etc, etc, which was two weeks from when I hit submit on my application.
Yes, when I click “list myself as an available roommate” it brings up a contact form and first name, last name, and email “…@ucsd.edu” is auto filled in. For the record, I don’t think my daughter will get into UCSD. I think she’ll get in to UCSC and is a maybe for UCI and UCD, probably a no for UCSD and UCSB.
@socalmom007 Ohh I see. For me, only my first and last name is autofilled, nothing else. Very interesting. I wish the best of luck to your daughter; this is such a stressful time. Hopefully we will all be happy in a couple months.
