… thats not acceptance rate… that means 7% of ucsd incoming freshmans were oos…lol

Regents is based solely on merit, I believe. And Chancellors is based on first-generation status, financial need, California resident, personal statements, etc…
For Chancellors you get
a) Priority enrollment, beginning Winter quarter of your first year
b) Depending on income, full-ride. Including money back
c) Resources in college - events only for CASP students (you get to meet the chancellor a lot)
In not sure about Regents.
I found out about the Chancellors when I got the estimated financial aid because it was written on the estimated financial aid paper.
I wasn’t being sarcastic. I think there is an about 20% enrollment cap for OOS so UCs will have to adjust their acceptance rate for OOS.
Yes, UCLA Admissions has a separate account. @UCLAAdmission
@lesimpson4 @Frijolito467: For UCSD 2018, the admit rate for OOS applicants was 51% however only 7% of the admitted OOS students actually enrolled most likely due to financial costs. OOS applicants get little to no financial aid so $65K/year is a high price to pay.
@Gumbymom can u PM me the info for OOS for the other UCs?
I can afford it so price isn’t a worry for me but UCSD is my second choice behind umiami @gumbymon
@lesimpson4: Best of luck with either school.
@Gumbymom I believe that the 51% acceptance rate for OOS students is incorrect. If I recall, I think some UC schools capped their acceptances for OOS students to 18%…

I hope UCSD comes out today !
Are we sure UCSD is gonna come out today?
@medstu1324 I think @Gumbymom was discussing acceptance rate while the cap discussed in the articles was enrollment. The 2nd article you listed noted UCLA had an OOS acceptance rate of 23.3% vs. 14.6% for IS.
@Gumbymom do you have any statistics on International Acceptance Rates at UCSD for 2018? Is that 23.3% figure for UCLA in the article basically the comparison to the 51% you noted for UCSD OOS? I am assuming OOS includes International?
Thanks!
I wouldn’t hold our breaths… UCSD historically comes out same day at UCLA. And UCLA is looking like next Fri…but anything is poss. This year has been a weird acceptance period accross the board with so many colleges. The only straight forward D-day was UC Davis.
@medstu1324: According to the UCOP admission link where I got that data, admit rates vs. yield rates (enrolled) are 2 different things. Since the costs for OOS student is high, the UC’s accept many applicants but few matriculate.
So yes, the UC’s have capped the # of International and OOS applicants for enrollment but they have not capped the % admitted to reach the enrollment target cap.

The above link can be filtered by in-state, domestic and International applicants for Admit rates, Yield Rates and by campus among other things.
Thanks @Gumbymom !
Super interesting how much variance there is year to year on the admit rate for each campus in looking at Residents, Out of State, and International.
My friend had sent me a screenshot of a lady discussing how she had actually called the UCSD Admissions Department, and said that they told her they were coming out today, 3 pm pst, no waves. UCLA and UCI will be coming up, but not sure about the actual date.
what time?
3 pm PST for UCSD, not sure about UCLA and other UCs.
