seems there are a lot more uc-uc intertranser, i'm going to SB, but with some people transferring out it makes me wonder

There is a distinct legal difference between the type of improvements a civil engineer and structural engineer can design. Having worked in the industry for awhile (both public and private), I would personality go for the structural engineering degree because they have a wider range of legal authority than a civil engineer (once you pass the licensing exam). For example, in California a licensed civil engineer cannot design retaining walls over three feet in height. They may know how to do it but can't legally stamp the plan.

I'm most likely going to attend UCSD this fall.

Can anyone tell me why I should go to Transfer Admit day?? I need to visit the campus, anyhow, but I just don't want to waste my time in orientation if it's not going to be helpful.

Why you should go to Transfer Admit Day:

1.) You'll be able to get info on housing
2.) You'll get info on what courses you'll need to take for your major

and

3.) ummmm.... you can go to the beach afterwards? lol
