@plsletmegraduate I know what you mean. I don’t even know what to do with myself, it seems like it’s totally possible one minute and then the next minute it feels like there’s no chance. I just hyped myself up so much for SD, in my mind it seems like I’m teetering on the edge of glory and agonizing defeat. I feel like I need professional help lol.
@userunidentified yeah I totally get what you mean. this whole year I’ve been waiting for the 27th in the hopes that finally I’d be able to have a concrete answer as to where I’m headed, but now it just feels like the anxiety and uncertainty has been extended and I can’t even enjoy the acceptances I have so far. I really hope they can let us know before the SIR deadline that way I won’t have to go completely through with the housing process at Irvine. @ UCSD admissions if y’all are reading this pls free us from this misery
Hey guys! So I’m waitlisted and wondering if it is possible at this point to switch majors while on the waitlist? Should I call and ask or is it not even possible?
@JayTee1818 hey, my educational guess would be not until you get in. Because right now they have so much on their plate I don’t think they will allow it/it wouldn’t make a difference but I’d def call Monday. You never know!
I’m SIRing to UCSB, but if I get in UCSD I’m going, does anyone know anything about housing for UCSD and how bad it’ll be for us if we get off the waitlist in July?
@suzeee Transfer Triton day is only for admitted students and their families but F it, I’m going anyway LOL! The campus is open so it’s not like they’ll really know if you got admitted or not.
Hey does anyone know when UCSD waitlist decisions came out based on last year or are we actually waiting till July?
Last year people found out mid and late May so fingers crossed. But admissions don’t seem to know what they’re doing so who knows
Ok bc I’m SIRing for UCSB unless I find out before June 1st
@akaleia0408
Are you still allowed to go to the triton day events and stuff?
@ayylmaoooo I don’t think so, I hope it’s by end of May I get my decision for the waitlist, because I’m really worried about housing if I get admitted, and housing at UCSB if I don’t.

Hello guys I am waitlisted too ! Actually I got good scores from Math and my Econ classes. The ones that UCSD dosn’t require dropped me to 3.45. Hopefully we will be all in. Do you guys know when they will announce the decisions ??
Major: 1st: Math, Prob & Stats. 2nd: Music

Hoping for their consideration. As a student who switched majors, I’m currently finishing up one class that I’m retaking for grade purposes, but not required for my current major. Really hoping lots of other students pick other UC campuses, I need to get into UCSD.
Do we have to write 200 words essay for UCSD waitlist?
@Alexandr2356786 Not that I’m aware of, where did you get that idea?
@Alexandr2356786 @userunidentified No. They used to make waitlist students write a statement but from what I understand that stopped last year.
UC Davis put me on waitlist and they want the 200 words essay. I am not sure if that means Davis is more selective than San Diego
@lovelei that’s what I gathered just now actually as I was reading some older threads about the waitlist. But I also found out something about people applying to capped majors as transfers, there’s a chance that if you’re admitted off of the waitlist they might admit you as undeclared depending on how competitive the capped major is. This seemed to be more common with freshman I’ll add, but this may be something I have to be concerned with as I only have a 3.26 for mechanical engineering which is a capped major. I’m hoping for the best still.
Hey guys I was on the OG post about UC Transfers to UCSD and decided to move over here after getting waitlisted. I opted in to being on the waitlist but the next day I got accepted to UC Berkeley. I immediately SIRed to Berkeley and decline offers from UCD and UCSB. I tried to withdrawal my opt in for the waitlist at UCSD to try and open up the spot I might take from one of u guys but I can’t figure out how. There is no button to opt out of the waitlist. Anyone know how? Thanks!
@trnsfrstdnt3 as far as I know, you can just wait it out. If they end up offering you a spot, decline immediately and they’ll move on to the next person on their list. You could also call admissions and see if they can do anything about it, but ya know, no pressure lol
