UCSD vs UCSB Regents for CS

I was accepted to UCSD and UCSB for CS, but I got regents for UCSB and not UCSD. Initially, I was planning to just go to UCSB to take advantage of the regents scholarship, but after doing more research it really feels like UCSD has more infrastructure in place and opportunities such as internship programs for CS students than UCSB does. I didn’t get a single drop of aid for either school besides regents, so that makes the $6,000 per year more tempting, but on the other hand I feel like I will have more opportunities at UCSD.

Any thoughts? Could students at either school weigh in?

Gonna page @ucsdcompsci to give you some input here. You’re not wrong that UCSD CS students are more aggressively recruited than those at SB

bump, sorry but im really having trouble choosing!

UCSD since you are not poor.

Since you’re having trouble, tell us a little more about yourself. Have you toured both schools? Are you planning to go into software engineering? What kind of college experience are you looking for? UCSD will give you arguably better opportunities when it comes to recruitment, entrepreneurship, and networking—not that there’s any shortage at UCSB. UCSB will give you arguably better opportunities when it comes to socializing, guaranteed on-campus housing, and saving money—not that you can’t socialize at UCSD. How significant is $24,000 to you? Will you actively seek out opportunities (research, organizations or work) at UCSD to help you eventually make up that $24K? Use these questions as a springboard, at least.
