Udell or Umass Amherst?

<p>Hi, I got into both Udel (still awaiting honors program deicision, most likely not going to get in) and Umass (no honors program granted, but got into TAP (talent advanced program) for engineering). </p>

<p>I want to major in Chemical Engineering. </p>

<p>Where should I go? I havn't received any financial aid information from Udel yet, but I'm getting $2625/year from Umass and I'm In-State, so it makes it around $16k/year (which is very financially fitting). </p>

<p>I know Udel has a better chem engineering program, but is it really worth the $8k/year difference? </p>

<p>Bigger question for you is one of fit - do you want a big party school or a smaller more intimate setting?</p>

<p>UMass-amherest is very good chemistry dept (I think) but I don't know how that translatest to ChemE. </p>

<p>I tough figuring out which schools have strong undergrad departments for a particular major.</p>

<p>UMass...you can also take classes at Smith, Amherst, Mt. Holyoke and Hampshire...plus you have several towns to chose from to hangout.</p>
