UF Telecommunications major

Hey,

So I’m a second year student at a university in Toronto. My parents just moved down to Florida and I’m looking to transfer to FIU or UF, but can’t seem to make a decision on which one I want to go to.

At UF I’ve been accepted for telecommunications with a production track.

At FIU I am having trouble deciding on a major. At Biscayne Bay I am looking into Communication: Digital media and at MMC I’m looking into the bachelor of arts in Information Technology.

I’ve also applied to UCF for interactive media.

I’m looking to get any sort of advice on the quality of the programs (faculty, equipment, quality of teaching, internships, etc.) at all schools.

I’m hesitant to pick UF just because I’m not sure if a college town environment is right for me, coming from a big city but if the program at UF is better that is where I will be going. I do know that UF is overall seen as the more prestigious school from the three.

Thanks!

UF has one of the best programs in the country, so this really shouldn’t be a hard choice. Go to UF, compete for a Hearst Journalism awards, master your chosen field.

You’ll get more intangibles, like connections, at UF, IMO. The internships I got there dictated the course of the rest of my life.

Citywide, yeah it might be a small town, but really, the campus is where you’d spend all your time anyway. Gator Nation all the way.

Definitely UF. Look up its ranking and you’ll see.
