UF

Hey guys, so I am a high school senior looking to attend UF in the fall. I sent an application in by the priority deadline of November 1, but during the process I chose to pay the admission fee by mail instead of by credit card online. Because of this, I was late in sending in the check. I was unaware that all materials had to be in by December 31 (including this check; everything else I had in) and unfortunately did not have my check in by that time. I realize that this means that UF will not be making my decision as a priority applicant now and I will be considered on a space available basis. I know that it is extremely competitive to get in when you don’t meet the priority deadline. I understand all of this but UF is still my first choice school. I am just wondering if there’s anybody that can tell me my chances of getting in now. I am an Asian male, my high school GPA is 3.72/4.19 (unwtd/wtd according to UF’s GPA calculation style), I scored a 1450/2060 on my SAT (670 reading; 780 math; 610 writing; 8 on the essay if that matters). I have also logged in over 200 community service hours through places other than my school as well as some in my school. I have participated in varsity level sports since freshman year of high school. I have also taken as many AP, DE, AICE, etc. courses as possible as I know that this can show colleges my work ethics. Is there still a good (or at least existant) chance that UF will accept me?

Thanks in advance I really appreciate any responses.

Also I’m wondering, I’ve heard through some other posts from the CC community that it might be a possibility that if I cannot be accepted for the fall term I might be placed in the summer term. In my application, I put down fall as my term of choice to apply for. Is what I’ve heard true? Also, if it is true, would it make a difference? Meaning would it increase my chances of getting in? I really just want to be accepted, whatever term.

Thanks again for any responses, it’s much appreciated.

Does anyone know what happens in this situation?

Some kids do get offered the summer term, and they enjoy it because they are able to adjust to the campus while there are fewer students there. Unfortunately I don’t know what your chances are for being admitted for either summer or fall. UF’s admission process is somewhat a mystery and it is difficult to predict who will and won’t be accepted.

There is another possibility with UF, called the PaCE program. This basically is a program where you are accepted to UF, but you must take a certain number of credits online before you can enroll on the actual UF campus. Check out UF’s website for more information on the PaCE program. Best of luck to you!

First of all, thanks for replying @Mobie101 , I just wanted to ask: how will I know if I’m offered the PaCE program? Will that be my notification on the day that I receive my decision?

Also, I’m assuming the website where I find out what my decision is will be the check my application status login and the notification will be there. Is this correct?

My cousin checked his status on decision day last year, and it was then that it said he was admitted as a PACE student if she chose to accept.
