UH OH they are short on dorms and starting to triple up

DS just got notified his dorm (new leonardtown) will be changed from 6 to 7 for their 4 bdrm. I actually pity that student,(it is a 1st time student, could be transfer or freshman) because this dorm is filled with returning students and he will be moving in an apt with 6 other guys that have a friendship, 4 will be sophs, 2 will be jrs. That being said they are all really easy going guys and are the type to include, yet they are also all Scholars students and /or ROTC which makes somebody who is neither a hard fit. The guys already had worked out the situation of who will get the extras and triple bunk, they may be assigned a specific room within the apt, but now 1 of them is swapping and going to be in the double with ds. The decision was based on points and they agreed if triple bunking would occur, it would occur in a particular way.

The email came down about 2 hours ago from UMD

Guess my son is lucky he’s in a single … or might that now become a double?

YEP!. This dorm was an intended 6, but it stated in very very fine print, it could be 8. The one double room out of the 2 doubles can go triple, and then 1 single out of the 2 singles can go double. Right now the single in his situation is safe, but 1 of the double rooms will now have a loft to put in the 3rd.
