UIC or Depaul for Public Policy major?

hi! i’m a senior in high school and am currently trying to decide whether to choose Depaul or UIC for my university. i want to go into the major of Public Policy (basically learning solutions to public problems) and i was just wondering what school would be better for that? i know depaul is mainly oriented in buisness and UIC is in STEM so i dont really know which school would facilitate to my major more. also, i know UIC is cheaper but i just want to know from a purely educational point of view and whether i’d have any opportunities after college , not financial, i think UIC would be the better financial option for everyone lol. if anyone knows, please let me know!! i’d really appreciate it.

I would probably lean towards DePaul, but what is the price differential? Will you live on campus at either?

I think they’d both be good. But I would actually lean to UIC because there are so many urban research projects going on there - you would be in the college of urban planning and public affairs where a lot of people are studying urban policy issues at the undergrad and grad levels. The program isn’t so big at Depaul.

hi! sorry for the late reply but no i wont be living on campus at either school, so that’s an expense out the window

yeah, UIC does have a lot of research opportunities. it definitely gives some food for thought, thanks a lot for the reply!
