UIUC (full ride) or UPenn?

woops @Cue7 actually I mixed up my data re: the difference between H and C/P so you are right in saying that the difference is greater than I perceived it to be. Though still not as great as the difference between H and Cornell and certainly not as drastic as the difference between name-brand schools and non-name brand. and with that correction, now I’m done

@enigmaticmind: Just wanted to check in with you. How’s your decision coming along?

Also, PennCAS2014:

I’m not sure if you meant this or not, but one could read your post #40 to imply that UIUC is a “non-name brand” school. (E.g. in terms of a bump for law admissions, the difference between a name-brand school [like Cornell or Harvard] and non-name brand schools [like UIUC?] is drastic.)

If that was indeed your intent, you may be underestimating UIUC. It’s a great public state school - a big time engineering school with strengths in a lot of areas. A quick glance at their law school placement also shows that the school doesn’t fare too badly:

It’s the third best feeder to U of Chicago Law (behind only Chicago’s College and Northwestern): http://www.law.uchicago.edu/files/file/announcements_2015-16_-_final_9-1-15.pdf (go to p. 199)

It has 3 students at Yale Law (http://www.yale.edu/printer/bulletin/pdffiles/law.pdf see p. 159). That’s actually quite good, considering that U Michigan has 4 students at Yale Law, and Cornell U has 8 students at Yale Law.

I just wanted to throw this out there - UIUC is certainly not podunk U.
