<p>DoD Identifies Army Casualty</p>

<p>The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.</p>

<p>Capt. Mark C. Paine, 32, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., died Oct. 15 in Taji, Iraq, from injuries suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.Paine was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.</p>

<p>What a terrible tragedy. Totally unnecessary. </p>

<p>Once we achieved the objective of overthrowing Saddam we should have immediately withdrawn all US troops from Iraq so that needless tragedies like this did not continue to happen. Iraq is turning into another Vietnam.</p>
