UMass Amherst vs Syracuse vs Rutgers NB vs Penn State for Comp Sci major w/ Econ or Pol Sci minor

I’d still go with UMass for CS.
But if the big sports experience matters so much to you, Syracuse if you want to pay more (but CS is less good than at UMass) or Penn State (but you’ll have two years on a stem - focused, smaller campus where there are no sports and where many students go home on Weekends.)

How does the quality of teaching and facilities differ in Erie compared to University Park?

Teaching quality will be similar, facilities will be excellent but fewer of them, and the quality of peers will be lower. Campus life will be less vibrant and many classmates will go home on weekends. You’re free tobdrive down to Up for the weekends of course but it’s not the same. Erie is the best branch campus, especially for stem. But it’s a branch campus.

What do you mean by “quality of peers”

As for Umass, the only thing holding me back from committing is that I may not be allowed to switch to CS. If it is fairly easy to switch, then UMass it is.

The SAT and ACT score difference is also clear.
